I would suggest that the OP might like to test the drive with Chip Genius (beware of malware). The computer recognizes the SanDisk Cruzer, as it makes the sound when the USB drive is plugged into the machine, but it doesn't show up on File Manager or windows explorer of this machine, so cannot use the USB drive. SOLUTION 3 -Check status of the USB flash drive under Device Manager.

i’m running windows 7 on a dell optiplex 980 computer (with tons of ram). Delete it by right clicking the registry key VID0781 and select 'delete' in the option. Start regedit from the Search the web and Windows in your computer, click 'Edit' and choose 'Find'. no matter what i do, it will not work it goes thru the motions of working (taking approx 45 minutes), but then at the end, it says the copy failed. Remove VID0781, the SanDisk registry info (Only the Sandisk Registry VID0781) 1. If the Flash Drive does not function on multiple computers, contact SanDisk Support to check warranty status. RE: SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB Flash Drive - 32 GB - USB 2.0 i just purchased this flash drive and am trying to copy a 4 GB file to it. They know very well that SanDisk/WD does not offer any such service, and neither does Seagate. NOTE: For flash drives with an LED, the LED will also not turn on if there is not enough power. ISTM that Seagate is obliged to attempt a chip-off recovery, assuming the device is not affected by encryption, and assuming that the flash memory is not an epoxied "blob".īTW, Seagate's suggestion that SanDisk would replace the controller is outright dishonest. If Equipment covered by Plan is REMOVEABLE FLASH MEMORY, this Plan does not cover any flash data storage devices that areįully not removable from the device in which it is contained for the collection of data or any Solid State Drive or Hard Disc Drive storage The drive is backed by a limited two-year warranty.
